Why we built it
Every SEO tool shows a keyword volume to the nearest hundred. Almost none of them will tell you where that number came from. Some are modelled from clickstream panels, some are extrapolated from a keyword planner that was never designed to be precise, and some are simply a guess dressed in a confident font. When you put one in front of a client you are lending it your own credibility.
Then AI assistants arrived and made it worse. A client asks why their traffic is down, and the honest answer is often that nothing about their ranking changed at all — an assistant answered the question and nobody needed to click. No tool we used measured that. Several started claiming to, with numbers that had no more foundation than the keyword volumes did.
So we built the thing we wanted: a platform that crawls the page for real, runs 148 checks against what it finds, asks the assistants themselves what they make of it — and then labels every figure on every screen as measured or estimated, so nobody has to guess which is which.
What we actually measure
148 automated checks run against every evaluation, 97 of them weighted for how AI assistants read and quote a page. The crawl is a real HTTP crawl that honours robots.txt. Core Web Vitals come from Google’s own PageSpeed Insights, because no crawler can measure Largest Contentful Paint — only a browser actually rendering the page can. Search Console figures come from Search Console.
And when a live source cannot be reached, the report says so and says why. It does not quietly substitute a plausible number. That sounds like a small thing. It is the whole difference between a report you can act on and a report you have to second-guess.
What we don’t claim
Keyword volume, difficulty and cost-per-click in RankBiz are estimates produced by a bundled model, not purchased from a search engine. They are useful for comparing keywords against each other. They are not a measurement of real search traffic, and we say so on every screen that shows one.
We do not promise rankings. We do not promise an AI assistant will quote you. Anyone who does is selling you something they do not control.
